Guy is a practicing attorney conducting a general legal practice as Guy McKenzie P.A. in Tallahassee. He has a strong interest in promoting highway safety having been employed as a manager, lawyer and executive in the tank truck transportation of hazardous materials industry for 33 years. Since 1965 he has also conducted a general legal practice being admitted to practice before the US Supreme Court, 5th and 11th Circuit Courts of Appeal, Florida Supreme Court, Georgia Supreme Court and various federal and state trial courts.

Guy was educated in the Walton and Leon County public schools and received a B.S. Commerce degree from Washington & Lee University in 1960. He attended law school at Emory University and New York University and received his law degree from Emory University in 1965. Between college and law school he served as a U.S. Army Air Defense officer with the UN peacekeeping forces in postwar Korea and at Headquarters, North American Air Defense Command during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Guy served as General Counsel, and from 1984 to 1995, as President of McKenzie Tank Lines, a nationwide tank truck transporter. During 1994-1995 he served as Chairman of National Tank Truck Carriers, the industry trade association. He founded and served as President of Pan American Transport, also a tank truck transportation firm, from 1996-1998 until that company was acquired by Suttle Truck Leasing, Demopolis, Alabama. In 1999 he resumed full-time legal practice with Smith, Currie & Hancock LLP and its Florida predecessor firm Cummings & Snyder, P.A. until establishing his own practice.

He is the author of For the Children, a historical survey of the 1930-1990 period published in 1993. He is the co-author of the Florida Lien Law Chapter of lienlawonline.com published in electronic media by Construction Publications, Inc. in January, 2002. When the Eastern European countries emerged from communist control in 1989 he assisted the state-owned Hungarian trucking concern in its transition to the free market economy.

Guy is married to the former Brigitte Rudolph of Heidelberg, Germany and they have three grown children who live in Massachusetts, North Carolina and Oregon. He has served on a number of governmental commissions inc1uding the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway Authority, Interstate Oil Compact, Governor’s Highway Safety Council, Governor’s Select Committee on Workforce 2000 and currently serves as Vice-President of the Florida Highway Patrol Advisory Council. He formerly served as director of Florida National Banks and as Chairman of Tallahassee State Bank. Guy currently serves as Vice-President and Director of Ballynahinch Castle Hotel, County Galway, Ireland.
